31 Days of hoodoo count down

The 31 Days of Hoodoo Challenge is a month-long learning experience focused on Hoodoo knowledge, practice, culture, and spiritual development.

Enrollment is open September 1 through September 30, 2026.
The challenge runs October 1 through October 31, 2026.

This is more than a list of daily prompts. Participants receive access to a growing portal of lessons, teachings, and practices that can be revisited throughout the month and beyond.

Inside the portal, you’ll explore topics such as spiritual cleansing, altar work, ancestor relationships, herbs and roots, divination, protection, petitions, figure work, Hoodoo history and culture, family traditions, land-based practice, and spiritual responsibility.

Live Teaching & Council Voices

The challenge also includes live lessons and conversations with members of the Hoodoo Heritage Council, invited practitioners, cultural workers, and elders.

These sessions create space for oral history, lived experience, demonstrations, questions, regional traditions, and knowledge passed person to person.

Year Three: Reclamation & Revolution

Adds new lessons, live teachings, and collective practices to the growing archive while giving participants access to teachings from previous years.

The Hoodoo Brunch is an intimate cultural and spiritual gathering centered in Hoodoo, Black Southern tradition, food, storytelling, creativity, and community. Taking place Saturday, October 17, 2026 in Hillsborough, North Carolina, the Brunch invites us to come together, break bread, learn, create, witness traditional practices, and spend intentional time immersed in the living culture of Hoodoo. Designed as a space for connection, education, and spiritual experience, the day will bring together history, oral tradition, music, hands-on participation, and the kind of fellowship that has always been part of how our people gather.

The VIP Hoodoo Brunch Experience is designed for guests who want a more intimate and spiritually immersive way to experience the gathering. In addition to everything included with General Admission, VIP guests will receive a personal chicken cleansing, professional portrait, preferred seating near the elders and demonstrations, and an exclusive keepsake to carry the experience home with them. This tier adds deeper access and personal participation while still keeping you fully connected to the communal spirit of the Brunch.

Children are an intentional part of The Hoodoo Brunch. Hoodoo Baby Brunch gives our youngest guests their own age-appropriate way to experience the culture, creativity, storytelling, and community of the gathering.

Throughout the day, children will participate in hands-on activities, cultural learning, music, storytelling, creative experiences, and opportunities to engage with Black Southern traditions in ways that feel welcoming and accessible to them.

They will still be part of the larger Brunch experience, sharing food, fellowship, music, community, and the Hoodoo Heritage Festival 2027 reveal alongside their families.

The goal is for our Hoodoo Babies to leave having learned something, made something, experienced something, and felt that these traditions belong to them too.

A separate Hoodoo Baby Brunch ticket is required for each child attending. This is not a family or group ticket. Children must attend with a ticketed parent or guardian.
